Easter 2018

Far-away tradition

The chimes, bouquets of flowers, showcases of pastries, chocolate bunnies... Easter is coming soon!

I like to evoke the Easter of my childhood. In my memories, it’s always nice. I remember the trees in bloom, the bells that were ringing, announcing the most beautiful of resurrections, the one of the nature.

I like to go back to the past and remember those sweet moments. The egg hunt was a real family tradition. I see myself with my cousin scrutinizing each tree, lifting each stone, searching each blade of grass.

I let you imagine, my dear readers, the joy and the enthusiasm that invaded us once the chocolates were discoverd!

Kites

As a child, I had the chance to travel and discover many countries. On a trip with my family in the Bermuda, I discovered an original tradition.

On the occasion of Easter, the inhabitants of Bermuda make their own kites and gather to make fly their magnificent achievements.

On Good Friday, everyone meets at Horseshoe Bay to attend the annual kite festival.

I learned how to make kites. First of all, we had to make sticks from fallen coconut leaves. Once the sticks were prepared, they had to be tied together in order to create a structure that could support the fine colored papers.

Tha hardest thing was yet to come: fly the craft! Once it was launched, I looked at him with wonder, he moved in the sky gracefully.

My dear readers, I will fiinish this article with this quote from Francis Blanche: « Everyone runs after his youth. At twelve, we run after a kite. Then, we run after his child’s soul.

See you soon!
